Choose To Take Responsibility For Yourself

Sometimes I find myself internally panicking. Why does it feel like I have no control over anything? How is it that I can try so hard and things don't turn out the way I imagine? I wonder what I've done wrong to be at this point of panic and what I need to be doing better so this feeling will never return.
But then I have to remember, I have no control of anything outside of myself.
The only thing I can do is choose the way I react to to my surroundings.
I can control what thoughts I am having and every action I take following them.
This thought resets my mind. I am able to think more clearly and take my power back from anything outside of myself.
Someone cut you off on the freeway?!
Meh, no biggie.. Not even going to waste my energy getting mad.
Forgot to set your alarm last night and woke up late?!
Woohsahhh.. Going to have to rush, but this moment won't define my day.
Don't let a single moment ruin your whole day. Stop defining yourself because of one event that happened in your life. Never let anyone tell you who you are or who you should be. Listen to and trust yourself. You know who you are better than anyone ever can.
The idea that has impacted my life the very most, was the realization that
I am the only person responsible for me.
And you are the only person responsible for you. No one is going to do it for you. Don't live your life always expecting things from others, otherwise you will never be satisfied. `We all have to care for our well-being and create our own happiness.
Talk about a freeing feeling!
I don't have to do it for anyone else..
Nobody else is going to do it for me..
Which then leaves me:
Only doing the things I want to do.
Associating only with people I enjoy being around.
Not having to act or feel a certain way about anything.
Being myself without any anxiety of what others might think of me.
Genuinely being cared for exactly the way I want to be.
No feeling of lack or loneliness, because I'm not searching for anything outside of myself.
Imagine this; everyone free of expectations, truly cared for, then coming together to appreciate each other without judgement.
Every decision each of us have made in our lives has lead us to this very second. So take control and responsibility for your life! Don't blame others or expect them to do a damn thing.
